Berton Vineyards Limited Gundagai Shiraz 2017
The Gundagai Shiraz has a deep colour and a knockout nose of dark fruits and warm oak and a very attractive velvety soft palate with impressive length.
Berton Vineyards was started in 1996 as a family owned vineyard in the High Eden region of South Australia but in 2005 with three new investors on board they bought one of Southcorps wineries in Yenda, New South Wales, this gave then the capacity to massively increase their production by buying in fruit top growers, the excellent value Berton Limited Gundagai Shiraz is one of the products of this move. The Gundagai Vineyard is situated 350m up, considered high here, in the rolling hills overlooking the Murrubigee River in New. The fruit is picked early in the morning and transferred to the winery where it is pressed and run into stainless steel tanks for fermentation then run into oak barriques for its second fermentation and further 10-12 months in oak before bottling. The Gundagai Shiraz has a deep colour and a knockout nose of dark fruits and warm oak and a very attractive velvety soft palate with impressive length.
