This excellent Côtes de Rhône comes from the old Chateauneuf du Pape estate of Domaine de la Solitude, which has been in the same family since 1535; it is now run by the young Florent Lançon.
Made from Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre, aged in large old barrels, his Côtes de Rhone is a cracker; deep dark cherry and black berry fruit with wild herbs complex spice notes and soft tannins this is drinking beautifully.
