This lovely Meursault from the small stony Les Criots vineyard with vines between 20-60 years of age, this lovely Meursault is mineral, fresh, direct and delicious.
The Ballot and Millot families started acquiring vineyards in Meursault in the 17th Century and when Charles Ballots parents married, they brought together vines from some of the best sites in the commune. This lovely Meursault from the small stony Les Criots vineyard situated beneath Les Santenots in the south of the AC, where most of the red Meursaults hail from but Charles Ballot is convinced it is best suited to Chardonnay. With vines between 20-60 years of age, this is a little lighter and racier that his Narvaux but still excellent. Aged for just under a year in oak 15% new, no battonage, lees stirring, is performed to keep the wine fresh and direct. One of the best addresses in Meursault.
