Made from 40-50 year old Nerello Mascalese vines grown 800m up on the northern flank of Mount Etna.
Mario and Michele Faro used all their skills as vineyard brokers to beat the rush to snap up some of the best sites on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in the early 2000's; with help from top tuscan consultant Carlo Ferrini and the result is their excellent range of Pietradolce wines. Made from 40-50 year old Nerello Mascalese vines grown 800m up on the northern flank of Mount Etna. The Sulphurous air and mineral soils give a really complex almost saline edge to the vibrant bitter cherry fruit.
