Seppeltsfield Barossa Valley Grenache 2019
Seppeltsfield’s Grenache is created without any oak aging in a fresh attractive style, highlighting the vibrant dark cherry spicy fruit of the Grenache, fresh yet warming and long.
Seppeltsfield stands as the cornerstone of wine making in Australia and the Barossa in particular, founded in 1850 by Joseph Seppelt when he brought 158 acres originally to grow tobacco but soon changed to viticulture producing wines for England and spirts for the local market.
Grenache was always an important grape for table wines and their big fortified wine market. This comes from their Great Terraced Vineyard near their winery, which is planted with bush vine Grenache vines (vines without wire trellis) and range from 60-80 years of age. The complete vineyard is planted in contours of which follow the natural shape of the land, giving rise to a manicured appearance especially when viewed from above. Seppeltsfield’s Grenache is created without any oak aging in a fresh attractive style, highlighting the vibrant dark cherry spicy fruit of the Grenache, fresh yet warming and long.
