Silent Noise Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2020
The very attractive Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, sourced from a friend, has a zippy, lemony fresh red apple and pear fruit with creamy oak at its heart but never dominates the fresh fruit flavours
The wild curly red headed Charlie O’Brien seems far too young at twenty to have a fully-fledged range of wines with several vintage s under his belt and heading off to work this year’s vintage at Chateau Lafite. Dig a little deeper and you find out that the McLaren Vale has been in his in his blood since birth, having worked with his father Kevin since he was five at his Kangarilla Estate in McLaren Flats. Silent Noise comes from Charlie’s childhood fascination with the noisy machines in the vineyard which fell silent when the wines were bottled only to be released when opened.
The very attractive Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, sourced from a friend, has a zippy, lemony fresh red apple and pear fruit with creamy oak at its heart, 50% aged in new French hogsheads with lots of lees stirring for freshness and texture, but never dominates the fresh fruit flavours.
