Taboadella Villae 2020 Dao Branco
A delightful floral and fresh white from Portugal's Dao region
Taboadella is a new venture for the Amorim Family, Portugals most famous cork producing family. Along with a stunningly situated Quinta in the upper Douro they have just bought this estate in the high lying, 400-500m, north of the Dao region. Overseen by Louisa Amorim and winemaker Rodrigo Alves and consultant Georges Alves.
Their Branco is a blend of 30% Bical, 30% Cercial, 20% Encrzado and 20% of a field blend of old vines, the grapes are fermented in a mix of stainless steel and ceramic tanks. The result is a really attractive floralwhite fruited nose with a creamy palate with hints of melon and ripe apples fresh aciadity and mineral notes from the granitic soils.
