Piersanti’s Bachero from 15 year old late picked Verdicchio vines is entitled to be labelled Superiore, the extra richness here and peach notes makes it stand out
Piersanti was founded by Giovanni Piersanti in Cupramontana south of the town of Jesi 1955 now run by his grandsons Giuliano and Ottavio. Nestled between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic sea the climate is more continental than Mediterranean so perfect for growing the Verdicchio grapes.
Their Bachero from 15 year old late picked vines is entitled to be labelled Superiore, the extra richness here and peach notes makes it stand out form the often green quite tart Verdicchios and is definitely a step up, a bit of oak aging adds extra texture too.
