The very attractive, vegan friendly, Riesling Edition Papillon has an enticing floral nose and a yellow plum and red apple sherbety palate with a long, dry citrus finish.
Germany’s Pfalz region or Platinate as it’s often known is due north of Alsace between the Haardt Mountains and the Rhine, like Alsace it has low rainfall and warm summers due to protection from the mountains.
Weingut Schwarztrauber was founded in 1959, in the village of Mußbach just south of Deideshem and has been run by Gerhard Schwarztrauber since 1994. Now at just over 20 hectares the estate has been farmed organically since 1986.
